Art lovers from Salzburg and the Easter Festival came to the Residenz to admire the treasures of the 41st ART&ANTIQUE at the vernissage. Art and antiques from an broad period were presented by the best Austrian and selected international art dealers. The probably oldest piece in the Residenz was a female statuette from the 5th millennium B.C., from the area of the former Mesopotamia, today’s Syria. This 8.5 cm tall clay figure met with much younger art, such as Andy Warhol’s portrait of Rolling Stone Mick Jagger. With Christian Thielemann, who has long been a regular visitor to ART&ANTIQUE, the cooperation partner Easter Festival was also prominently represented.
