The fruit baskets designed by Josef Hoffmann range among the most popular pieces made by the Wiener Werkstatte. The highly reduced shapes along with the perforated “gebuckelter Efeu” ornamentals are a perfect example of the Wiener Jugendstil.
This piece was designed 1909 and bears the model number M 1101, the blueprint can be found in the Wiener Werkstatte Archive in the Museum for Applied Arts Vienna with the inventory number KI 12031-29-1 along with a contemporary photograph with the inventory number WWF 97-50-14.
