Josef Hoffmann was one of the leading designers of the Wiener Werkstatte in the 1920s. He designed a wide variety of items from lighting, furniture over tea sets and glasses, to ashtrays and whole smoking sets. Complete sets are incredibly rare to find and, in this case, even the match box holders are still with the other pieces.
It is perfectly executed and marked at the rim with “Wiener Werk Statte” in three rows,“Made in Austria” and artist`s monogramm “JH”.
